WORTHLESS
WEALTH:
By Prof Ben Onyeukwu
People acquire worthless wealth, when they become materially wealthy, but poor toward GOD. JESUS CHRIST remarks in a parable about a certain "rich man" who became rich, but mindlessly was concerned about his wealth, without any sense of regards for the LORD. And so, "God said to him, you fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?' So is everyone who lays up treasure for themselves, and are not rich toward God."
King Solomon, in a heartrending summary of the worthlessness of godless wealth, describes such wealth as, ..."vanity of vanities"... Also, in an insightful sermon which depicts the human soul as more valuable than all the treasures of this world, JESUS CHRIST asks,..."what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"
In conclusion, please, note that worthless wealth is in place, when the possessor of such a wealth is not a possessor of CHRIST. REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL! (See Luke 12:16-21, Ecclesiastics 1:2-3 and Mark 8:35-37).
